Candy Store Prophets : Songs for angels

All in all, good effort. Wrong decade.

Candy Store Prophets : Songs for angels

Exactly the kind of record you'd expect from a Dundee band in 1984. Singer touchingly wants to join The Go-Betweens, guitars aiming for that windswept Crazy Horse feel, and song titles that could grace any Felt album: 'Cindy's On Fire', 'The Shortness Of Life Does Not Stop Us From Entertaining Long Hopes'. All in all, good effort. Wrong decade.

Music as time travel. Doing a lot of that this week.
