Heist : Berlin express

If only this had come out in 1982. It still wouldn't have done very well. All European mysticism, dramatic noirist filmscapes and none the bloody wiser at the end of it, this is nevertheless the kind of pretension and pseudery music needs right now. They are detective, or something, and are being chased through some scary Slovakian

back

street. Fair enough. Sod your lo-fi mumblings and dour realism,

this

is why music was invented. It's a tune that evokes images of its

own

dark, smoky little world, presumably populated by wannabe Scott Walkers, Brels and Gainsbourgs, all resolutely unsuccessful but charmingly louche all the same.
