Bows : Blush

Kind of sad, kind of funny. Altogether, a not terribly divine comedy.

Luke Sutherland is the Dr Jonathan Miller of lo-fi. A man of many disciplines, he is violinist (with his former band Long Fin Killie), novelist, and now... trip-hop artiste with Bows, a kind of irritating '40s-style theatrical beats project. Here remixed by engineer du jour Pete Astor as Ellis Island Sound, he poses us a difficult question: if you only enjoy someone's records when someone else has remixed them,

and

when the artist isn't singing on them, are you a bad guest? Or is the artist a bad host?

Kind of sad, kind of funny. Altogether, a not terribly divine comedy.
