I Monster : Daydream In Blue

Typical. You wait years for a record to sample 'Daydream' by the Gunter Kallmann Chorus and three arrive at once. 'Daydream In Blue', by Sheffield's occasional duo I Monster, uses the pretty orchestral lilt in question with considerably more invention than efforts by the other tune burglars, The Beta Band and Skinny. Originally released in 1996 and again earlier this year on Barry from Add N To (X)'s seven-inch label Cercle, the gentle manipulation and drowsy synthetics Jarrod Gosling and All Seeing I member Dean Honer have applied to 'Daydream?' result in a truly fabulous single, though we fear its brilliance is unique among their repertoire.
