Charlatans : A Man Needs To Be Told

Another great single from the Charlies...honest!..

Los Angeles has a way of changing a man. First, Tim Burgess picks up this natty falsetto and then, just you wait, this time next year, he'll be trussed up in a pair of tight leather pantaloons and dating Playboy bunnies. And by 2005, he'll be the size of five Meatloafs and supporting Motley Crue on their comeback tour. Still, as long as The Charlatans keep getting better, it matters little, because 'A Man Needs To Be Told' is a thing of immaculate pop nobility and shivery wonderment. It's the sound of a band that, against all odds, just keep getting better.
