Royksopp : Remind Me/So Easy

About this time last year, NME took [a]Kings Of Convenience[/a] to Ibiza. Little did we know that little more than twelve months later, Kings singer Erlend Oye would have almost completed a solo dance album and be guesting on singles by dark Norwegian dance lords [a]Royksopp[/a]. Following ‘Poor Leno’, ‘Remind Me’ is beautifully evocative, melancholic folk disco, made even better by a remix which makes it sound a bit like ‘The Model’ by [a]Kraftwerk[/a]. You’ll know ‘So Easy’ from the advert for T-Mobile phones – it’s the one that sounds like a chilly, star-sprinkled night in some remote mountain region. Taken together, they’re more comforting and uplifting than a mug of MDMA-spiked Horlicks.
