Idlewild : The Modern Way Of Letting Go

What will the songs written by the five piece [a]Idlewild[/a] sound like? This hopefully. By rights, a bone-chewing rock pig with Lemmy’s larynx should start howling after the garage metal intro. Instead, of course, it’s Roddy. Tying himself up in philosophical knots that make even the most obscure emo lyrics feel like Big Grand Obvious Statements. Here, our hero strays into trite gobbledegook ("Losing isn’t learning to be lost/It’s learning to know when you’re lost"), but thankfully the turbocharged melody barrels on magnificently without him.
