Mull Historical Society : The Final Arrears
...feels too dainty to really impress....
[I]You know what would be great? If the [a]Mull Historical Society[/a] were some kind of Wicker Man-style pagan sect that did naked midnight dances and shared a table with The Polyphonic Spree at university recruitment fairs across the country. Regrettably, Colin MacIntyre’s twee brigade always seems a bit more Gregory’s Girl, and alas, there’s no shortage of that in indieland. With twittering children’s choir and parping trumpet, at least ‘The Final Arrears’ registers a slim ambition. Yet somehow, it still all feels too dainty to really impress.
