Turin Brakes : Pain Killer

What "pain", exactly?

If culture minister Kim Howells was really doing his job he would be using the full might of the state to crush bands like this. Never mind gangsta rap, this stuff is the real menace to society. It brainwashes otherwise blameless youths into wearing brown cardigans and it probably encourages an unhealthy and morbid interest in chartered accountancy and gardening. It's nice, it’s acoustic and it's as miserable as pissed on chips. But it fails to answer the key question - what "pain", exactly? Unless you mean the unbearable angst of being paid shitloads to write, record and perform twee retro-folk music while being chased by thousands of insatiable groupies. Oh how awful for you!
