The Raveonettes : Beat City

Like a Dogme musical about fictional biker gangs set in Denmark, the Raveonettes exist high on the window-ledge of self-parody. A fearsome splurge of distorted guitars, droning drums and lyrics swiped from Bobby Gillespie's teenage diaries, it promises, at the very least, a six month stint supporting The Kills across Mongolia. Where they go from lyrics like "Wanna drink and drive/Wanna have some fun" is hard to say, but then car crashes always did have a macabre fascination.
