Soulwax : NY Excuse

New disco epic from the Dewaele brothers

Soulwax : NY Excuse

Do Soulwax listen to their own records? If so, why can’t the Dewaele brothers see (or rather hear) that this tapped/toe-tapping electronic nuisance is about a thousand times better than ‘E-Talking’? As a rock band they plod, as dance producers they are touched by the hand of God. Talking of whom, DFA are on hand to remould ‘NY Excuse’ into a stunning eight-minute futurist disko epic; harsh, melancholy and monumentally funky. Parisian hotshots Justice, meanwhile, bring their speciality punchy editing to the party, overloading everything like Daft Punk on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
