Foals

Red Socks Pugie

Don’t be surprised if Foals’ addiction to self-sabotage results in the dubby, paranoid Various Productions remix ending up as the A-side. However, this album version remains the best thing Foals have written: soaring, sincere, emotional, boasting an actual chorus that bursts joyfully out of nowhere and all their little spidery tics and tactics employed in the process of illumination rather than obfuscation. You can smile now, Yannis.

I love this song more than any other track on the album. Firstly, I thought it was rather boring, but as it played on it started to unravel it's own complex story, with just te right mix of electro and indie, Yannis's distictive voice running through, and that great change in mood from verse to chorus. LOVE IT!!

It is such an amazing song from such an amazing album. 'Red Sox Pugie' is certainly one of the best tracks on the album, and possibly one of the most well-crafted songs that will come out this year! Brilliant!
