Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Popular festival band release summer anthem in non-cynical marketing ploy! You won’t buy this, not because of the credit crunch or because it’s rubbish (it’s amazing) but because to find someone who can’t already hum the chorus you’d have to take a trip to uncharted areas of the Amazon. This is now just sedative music for this year’s acid casualties.

Wow another aweful review from NME, giving it a 6/10 (even when you said it was amazing) just because its popular and no one will buy it is pure crap.

Are you rating the song on it's musical merit, or how it's perceived after its release? If it's an amazing track (which it is, likely the best on Oracular Spectacular) then rate it as such. Don't punish it for being so popular, there's a reason for that.

WTF!!! You sound like an acid casualty yourself woman.Anyway,i think you will find more Shroom casualties than acid anyday of the week.

What a horrible review. You're talking about how the song is perceived and who listens to it rather than the songs creative and musical merit. What a bastardization of a great song. I expected at least an 8 out of 10

The single has not been released yet and it is already over played and surely OVERRATED on every single media source.

pretty average revue really. you should learn to appreciate the song for what it is - a modern day classic

I think it's an informative review in that she explains she likes the song but knocks off marks for (perceived) cynical marketing. The replies pretty much sum up what she's saying: everyone has this tune by now, don't they? And yes, of course it's great.

I guess she's saying its just overplayed and instantly catchy but, still amazing, I suppose she's right, she does recognise that the song is amazing, I think shes just saying how she doesnt even need to write a review as it doesnt take a genius to work out its a mighty fine tune.

Amazing song, and i'm really glad that MGMT done so well in 'NME's-Annual-List-Things' but this really has to be the worst review i've ever read. It is informative, but irrelevant, nobobdy really needs to be told that a song is over-played and i could forgive a mention of it's popularity if there was more than a few brief references to the song itsself. Oh well, it did top the 'Tracks of the Year List' so i suppose it doesn't REALLY matter . . .
