AC/DC’s Brian Johnson could be rejoining the band soon

Johnson has met with an ear specialist

AC/DC‘s Brian Johnson is currently taking a break from the band’s extensive tour due to serious hearing loss. He has now shared some good news about his condition after meeting with an ear specialist.

Johnson is currently being replaced with Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose. AC/DC recently announced the rescheduled U.S. dates of their Rock or Bust Tour, which will be Rose’s last outing as the vocalist.

According to Rolling Stone, Johnson met with in-ear technology specialist Stephen Ambrose for treatment. Ambrose’s ADEL hearing technology – which absorbs harmful pneumatic pressures inside your ear canal – could help restore Johnson’s hearing.

“It works. It just totally works and you can’t argue with that. I was really moved and amazed to be able to hear music again like I haven’t heard for several years now,” the singer said in a statement.

“I can’t wait for it to be miniaturised so I can use it in every situation from normal communication, going out to noisy restaurants, [and] performing live music onstage.” According to reports, Ambrose reached out to Johnson on YouTube after hearing about his condition.

Speaking in the video, Ambrose said: “Brian, I introduced Guns N’ Roses to in-ear monitors in 1990 and I’m a big fan of Axl Rose’s voice, but let’s be clear: I’m with Roger Daltrey on this, I really can’t imagine anyone but you singing ‘Back in Black'”. You can see the video below.
