Whoever put together Boy Kill Boy has been at it again. Hunched over a Frankenstein’s monster of a contemporary indie band, he’s been watching the ghastly creation unfold, meticulously sewing the voice box of Paul Smith into the neck of a mildy outraged Young Knife and around the dancing spine of The Rifles. In goes the melodic brain of The Upper Room, the lyrical hand of Eddie Argos. He cowers as the beast tries to act human, sometimes reaching the realm of the homosapien (the unfortunately named but pretty good ‘Decisions Of Legomen’) other times lapsing into mechanical beast (the lazy echo of ‘Everyone Says I’m Paranoid’). Apartment: significantly less than the sum of its parts.
