Exclusive – Watch Video Footage Of The Libertines Jumping Out Of Their Helicopter At Glastonbury

A week ago today (June 26) we got news that The Libertines were to make an unscheduled appearance at Glastonbury, playing on the Pyramid Stage before headliners Florence & The Machine who’d been bumped up after Foo Fighters pulled out.

As always with this band, nothing was straight-forward. They had to hire helicopters to get them onsite in time, and I went along with photographer Roger Sargent and the band’s security team to meet them at a makeshift airfield a few miles offsite.

Seeing front-seat passengers John Hassall and Pete Doherty waving manically at us from the air was a comical moment, and the whole thing had a surreal, happy vibe to it – with a little Spinal Tap thrown in for good measure (no bad thing!).
