Fortune Drive: ‘A Modern Question’

Score

'The songs have a certain amphetamine-charged charm'

Bristol garage-soul revivalists Fortune Drive come with pedigree: their pint-sized singer Bobby Anderson is the son of soul chanteuse Carleen, and he’s inherited her expressive husk. He uses it to colour his fantasy vision of classic rock’n’roll, and even though the songs aren’t fantastic, they have a certain amphetamine-charged charm.
