There’s A Massive Mural Celebrating Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar Win On A Street In LA, Obviously

In the weeks leading up to the Oscars, the internet became a little bit obsessed with the idea that Leonardo DiCaprio, arguably the finest film actor of his generation, might finally win one. Remember that free desktop game Leo’s Red Carpet Rampage? As expected, DiCaprio collected the Best Actor trophy on Sunday night for his fiercely committed performance in The Revenant and many of us spent Monday looking at pictures of Leo holding his Oscar, Leo taking a photo of his Oscar and Leo’s bestie Kate Winslet beaming with pride as Leo went about his post-victory business with his Oscar. Now the actor’s long overdue gong has been commemorated in a massive piece of street art on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, obviously, as snapped by The Hollywood Reporter.

Without wishing to rain on Leo’s parade, let’s spare a thought for some of the other A-list actors who have yet to crown their trophy cabinet with Hollywood’s biggest prize: Glenn Close (six Oscar nominations without a win), Amy Adams (five), Johnny Depp (three), Tom Cruise (three), Mark Ruffalo (three) and Sigourney Weaver (three), to name but six. Poor Richard Gere has never even been nominated. To all of you: Never Never Give Up.
