Most of these '80s and early-'90s techno classics have seen active service many times before. Even so, this mid-priced anthology from the ground-breaking Belgian stable is a pretty easy way to assemble or revisit some true landmarks of the genre.

Necessary or evil? Good stuff for a first-timer, from the humid intensity of Aphex Twin's Rolf-Harris-on-crystal-meth buzz monster 'Didgeridoo' to the surgically precise scything of Joey Beltram's 'Energy Flash'. No real duffers and few dated sounds either.
