4 Hero : Les Fleur

The Age Of Aquarius has hit Dollis Hill...

The Age Of Aquarius has hit Dollis Hill, the London home of 4 Hero. 4 Hero once did interesting things with the one trick pony of drum and bass, but now they're doing interesting things with the crippled old nag of groovy '70s musicals. Yes, 'Les Fleur' (ah oui, it's a cover of an old, ahem, Minnie Riperton number) sounds like an out-take from [I]Hair, the counter culture musical with all the naked people. What's more, it sounds like - and some of our younger readers might like to take a step back here so the old folks at the rear can hear - a cross between Laura Nyro and Terry Callier. Should we be reviewing this in NME, now? There's a war on, you know.
