Amazing Pilots : Price Of Winter

Ultimately, it's indie...

Since we're in a wistful winter mood, the Amazing Pilots are four slightly angst-ridden men from Northern Ireland and 'The Price of Winter' will come as a genuine treat for that microscopically small group of people who thought that it all went wrong for Primal Scream shortly after they released their mid-'80s indie disco classic 'Velocity Girl'. There's some beautiful tunes here and some nicely understated accordion bits to bring a warm fuzzy edge to proceedings. Ultimately, it's indie but since it doesn't sound remotely like Verve or Muse, it's deserving of no small amount of awe.
