Badly Drawn Boy : Spitting In The Wind

Where our woolly-hatted hero bows down to The Man by changing his title to 'spitting' because the word 'pissing' was deemed far too risqué. Thankfully, legendary Deep South producer George Drakoulias is around to add some genuine country-fried steel guitar and harmonica to proceedings that teases the understated beauty out of the original to create a truly magnificent piece of work.


As if that wasn't enough, there's even a wonderfully deconstructed version of 'The Shining' by Minotaur Shock for those of you who might miss the shambolic,
lo-fi shenanigans of yore. When all's said and done, though, you've got to give Damon Gough his dues - he knows how to spin a good tune. Even in this day and age, that's often still enough.
