The Seus

As the perennial question about the planet-sized ex-Pixie goes: could he still write world-beating rock songs – and if so, is he just fucking around? ‘The Seus’ sees Frank jamming it out as a three-piece band, which actually does a lot for him, replacing complacency with a wolfish hunger and bizarre lyrics: “You are ghost! You are toast!” The Charles Normal Mix, meanwhile, recreates it as a conga-spattered pop-funk number that feels like Jon Spencer driving you down a cobbled road in
a truck with no tyres – that is, initially entertaining, but after a while, a bit of a pain in the arse.
