Blur : No distance left to run

Oh dear, the really, really sad one. The one about the nitty-gritty of the break-up. Coughs nervously, pulls on hairshirt and shuffles over to the stereo. Brace yourself for sadness. "It's over, you don't need to tell me", snuffles Damon, "I hope you're with someone who makes you feel safe in your sleep". Justine crosses and uncrosses legs. Tugs hard on fag. Damon: sob.

For God's sake, man! Why bring this out now? You've just had a baby, you've got a new girl, a new life, a new postcode: doesn't it feel weird having this beamed out across the airwaves now? Is it that good a song that you just had to release it (let's face it, it's the third single off the album, it's a bit country how good is it going to be?)? "When you're coming down, think of me". Indeed. He must
have a very patient or very suicidal new girlfriend.

On the plus side though, CD1 contains a tremendous new mix of 'Tender' by Cornelius which pricks the overblown strings of the original and replaces them with zinging guitars and bells as Damon wails winningly about screwing up his life. Aaaaaaargh!
