Born of failing indie band The Electric Soft Parade and the one who can’t sing from British Sea Power on, er, vocals, as a concept Brighton supergroup Brakes really shouldn’t work. But somehow it does, and they’ve been making superior party rock for a couple of years now. Alas, this is Brakes in generic schmindie mode, and as such is as tuneless as a pre-mastered Pussycat Dolls vocal take.
