Cajun Dance Party

Cajun Dance Party

Cajun Dance Party

The Race

They’re not Cajun, they can’t dance, and, judging by the gloomy video for ‘The Race’, they’re not really up for a party. But this refusal to toe the line continues to serve Cajun Dance Party well. While not in the same league as their peerless ‘The Next Untouchable’, ‘The Race’ is wonky pop in the spirit of Pulp, which grabs you by the lapels and urges you towards the dancefloor while you’re still trying to figure out the subtext. “The sun will rise/Even if you don’t happen to be there!” exclaims Daniel Blumberg, tangled up in existential woe. A surefire winner.
