First get yourself acquainted with the exotic majesty of Baltimore/Brooklyn trio Celebration via their recent marvellous album, ‘The Modern Tribe’. Once you’ve fallen in love with that, you can move on to this next exciting stage of the courtship, in which Simian Mobile Disco discover a space-disco dimension to ‘Hands Off My Gold’, YYYs’ Nick Zinner gets brassy with ‘Heartbreak’, Holy Fuck rebuild ‘Fly The Fly’ out of scrap metal and Blood Brothers – who we had pegged as post-hardcore scrappers – offer a lush, beatless interpretation of ‘Evergreen’. More than enough reason to celebrate.
