Cut Off Your Hands

Oh Girl

Cut Off Your Hands
One can only assume that the young gentlemen of New Zealand are not backward in being forward. Whereas, traditionally, musicians of an indie leaning would demonstrate romantic feelings by lurking in overcoats and penning love odes that would never, ever be heard, Cut Off Your Hands run around waving their boners, singing “We can do things that we’ve never done/We can just talk, it could be such fun” and sounding a bit like The Police. That’s OK, but better is B-side ‘Turn Cold’, a high-octane scuttle that sees Johnny Marr-like guitar deftly twinned to skittering, dub-tinged bass.
