Daft Punk : Harder Better Faster Stronger
Effectively a national anthem for a futuristic, agreeably funky state...
A very cool single indeed this, only tainted slightly by the fact that by being involved with Gap, essentially the McDonalds of clothes, Daft Punk have revealed their true colours not as shiny robot creatures, but as big dull squares. Still, this is very good indeed, a muscular and shiny take on the 1980s influences currently coming to prominence in the hands of slightly less affluent souls like The Faint and Cut Copy, and for which Bangalter and de Hommem-Christo were the first. Guitar solos. Funny manipulated voices, all in all this is effectively a national anthem for a futuristic, agreeably funky state.
