Dogs

Tall Stories From Under The Table

Contrary to what the band probably believe, we thought it was hilarious the time Dogs handed out badges at the NME Awards saying ‘I’m Some Cunt From NME’ in response to a less-than-favourable review. But no amount of cheeky Cockney japes can compensate for a second album of godawful guttersnipe-rock. It’s bad enough that tracks such as ‘Soldier On’ are little more than The Jam watered down to piss-strength, but to then find that Paul Weller himself thinks enough of Dogs to play piano on the appalling ‘By The River’ is enough to make even the most ardent mod throw his cravat on the floor in disgust. An album to lift your leg on for sure.

This is unbelievable. I'm surprised by the rating (3/10). In any review there is a chance to underrate or overrate an album but this is totally shocking. The album to me is 7/10 but rating it so bad just because the band gave those badges out is unprofessional.

this band are totally underrated, no airplay or media coverage and the likes of Hardeep Phull( what public school did he come from?) are coming out with vindictive crappy personal reviews like this. Well i`m sorry but the NME has lost its street edge and its catering to little rich kids and students who try to act working class but they haven`t got a fucking clue.

This album is blinding, as seem to be all dogs songs in general. The fact that Hardeep mentions the badges shows that he is bitter about the incident. The people at nme seem to have lost their edge, if they ever had it, and just seem to be following trends, scared to speak out of line incase they are no longer considered 'cool'.Hardeep Phull is probably a fan of the ting tings, glasvegas and the twang i.e. is probably deaf.
