Electrelane : Blue Straggler
This record will make you feel happy, which is more than anyone can say for Hear'Say.
Brighton's Electrelane may not be setting their sights terribly high, as the once-bright future of primarily instrumental space-rock seems to have slipped through our fingers, taking the likes of Quickspace and Pram with it. Still, this is one whizz-pop-bang of a tune - part sideshow soundtrack, part starry-eyed celebration of something verbally inexpressible. The B-side is called 'I Love You My Farfisa', which tells you pretty much everything you need to know.
This record will make you feel happy, which is more than anyone can say for Hear'Say.
