Glasto preview: Starsailor : Heavenly Social, London
The band cover The Beatles and Neil Young at their London Social show...
STARSAILOR played an impromptu show last night (June 24) in central LONDON's HEAVENLY SOCIAL, ahead of their GLASTONBURY slot this weekend.
The band, performing without keyboard player Barry Westhead, took to the stage around 11pm to round off the club's Acoustic Evening. Using borrowed instruments and apologising for being unrehearsed, they played a set in front of a crowd of 40 people, with just a handful of their own songs, rounded out with covers of tracks by Fred Neil ('Dolphins'), Harry Nilsson ('Everybody's Talkin'), Neil Young ('Hey Hey, My My'), Wings ('Band On The Run') and closing with The Beatles' 'Let It Be'.
The band head out to Denmark later this week to play at the Roskilde Festival, before jetting back for their show on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on Saturday (June 29).
