Five : Let's Dance
Pretty storming comeback from the Band Currently Known As Three...
Or, more accurately, Three. Five are promoting their big comeback minus two members. Sean has glandular fever and Scott has just had a baby. That shows the kind of lack of professionalism you'd never see in Five's American counterparts.
Then again, perhaps that's Five's strongest point. They're your 100% '4 real' low budget, Spar's own brand approximation of a popular stateside boy-brand and they look like a team of spot welders. 'Let's Dance' shows the boys banging impatiently on the maturity button in a slightly sinister summer groove with vocoders aplenty. It's nowhere near the majesty of their epoch-defining 'If You're Getting Down' but then again, in this crazy pop universe, what is?
