Cheer Up Boys (Your Make Up Is Running)

What’s in a name? Absolutely nothing in this case, as the title doesn’t have anything to do with the song. It seems Lord Grohl just wanted to take a shot at guyliner-wearing emo bands. Fair enough, he’s Dave Grohl and Dave Grohl can do whatever the hell he likes, including deleting the physical version of his single immediately prior to its release. Why’d you do it Dave? Is it because, even though it sounded pretty good at last year’s festivals, ‘Cheer Up, Boys (Your Make Up Is Running)’ is actually dull-as-ditchwater Foos-by-numbers? We reckon so.

Wow, what a massive credit to musical journalism you clearly are. I'm as indifferent to the song as you are, believe me, I just think that when you're on the books for a music website with millions of hits under it's belt, from a publication which an international audience turns to for extensive reviews you can do better than bashing the artist for 90% of your article and then saving 1 sentence at the end for possibly the vaguist overview of a single ever. Poor Show.

what kylius said, but with the addition of the words 'increasingly dwindling' in between the words 'an' and 'international'.

Clearly you don't appreciate the wonder of the Foo Fighters, they can take any song and turn it into a musical masterpiece, "Cheer-Up Boys..." most definately isn't their best song to date, but you must credit them with some dignity. They've been together for over 10 years and managed to produce some awe-inspiring music. "Cheer Up Boys" is hardly as dull as ditch water!Surely such a critisism should be saved for this review...
