Four Tet : I'm On Fire

Life. Is. Too. Short....

Both as a member of post-rock footsoldiers Fridge and solo as Four Tet, Kieran Hebden has spent the best part of the last six years putting out increasingly esoteric (ie flagrantly unlistenable) DIY electronica flotsam.

It comes as no surprise then, that with ‘I’m On Fire’, Hebden once more spurns the E-numbers ear-candy of S Club Juniors in favour of some snail-paced synths, punctuated by the occasional icy drumbeat. Yes, there is a modicum of amusement to be had by playing vinyl copies at the wrong speed, but ultimately Life. Is. Too. Short.
