From Autumn To Ashes

Holding A Wolf By The Ears

From Autumn To Ashes

7 / 10 Screamo has few true champions. Rather, it survives care of a collective of highly prolific acts. For the fans this is a major boon – it’s just like having your favourite artist release 10 albums a month. From their inception, FATA have always been more experimental than their peers. This time they’ve shed some of their technique for technique’s sake along with their vocalist. All this leaves ‘Holding…’ about as soothing as a metal-infused screamo record can get, though it’s the always-welcome redistribution of clean vocals over screaming that’s apparent here. FATA’s best yet? Absolutely. Best screamo record ever? Maybe next month.
