Sometimes it takes time to get really good at what you do – luckily for us, Glass Rock, a supergroup of New York alt-rock veterans, have finally burst into flower on this, their second album.
From the first crystalline notes of acoustic and chiming electric guitar on ‘Better Than Me’ we’re plunged into a beautiful, placid sea of interweaving guitars, currents of rolling drums and a honeyed, reverbed voice, courtesy of Kathy Leisen, purring out cryptic lyrics. It’s all a little like Beach House if they only listened to Pavement. Glass Rock have made a minor masterpiece. Now you need to give it some of your time.
