Goldfrapp : Utopia (Genetically Modified)

Despite the lingering suspicion that they make music solely for graphic designers, Goldfrapp's
art-hop is undeniably enchanting. The Pet Shop Boys writing a
West End musical is pretty great but imagine Ennio Morricone
and Björk getting involved too, and you'd approach the grand-scale oddity of the remixed 'Utopia' - a song as sinister and sweet as a fairytale apple. Instruments called 'octopads' and 'violectras' were used: welcome to the grown-up future, where technology doesn't mean ignoring perfectly good vowels. Victoria Segal
