Groove Armada : At the river

A quite marvellously odd lounge number, all drowsy trumpets and suave crooning. It could be Tony Christie on smack, inviting you to join him in his seaside paradise, except that wouldn't be that original... er. However, I'm somewhat suspicious, not only of this lot's name, but of the slowed-up breakbeat and techno squelching noises behind it. My fears prove well founded when there's an inevitable washing machine remix to follow, presumably

they can play it in Ibiza when everyone's plastered and people will relate to it because it mentions 'sand' and 'salty air'. I'll forgive them, though, because it makes me think of my holidays, which can't come too soon at the moment.
