Gus Gus : Starlovers
The world needs disco Christianity like [a]Ian Brown[/a] needs a parking space at Mensa.
Are the record importers of Reykjavik on strike or something? Do teenage death metal freaks rampage through the streets burning Our Prices to the ground? Or have they burnt all of the CDs in Iceland for warmth? See, judging by the new offering from post-Sugarcubes miserablists Gus Gus, the only two records they've heard in Iceland in the past six months are 'Tender' and the new Electronic single. Hence 'Starlovers' and its electro gospel fripperies, kind of like Depeche Mode discovering religion five years early. And, frankly, the world needs disco Christianity like Ian Brown needs a parking space at Mensa.
