Ja Rule : Thug Lovin'

...the brighter his blunt burns...

There are people who would suggest that Ja Rule’s shift from gritty ghetto superstar to silky R&B-tinged love puppet is sellout of the highest order. And then there are people whose ears work. Teaming up with long forgotten mentalist berk Bobby Brown for four minutes of macho gangland bravado-lite, it seems the further Rule meddles in pop concerns the brighter his blunt burns.

And so, despite the attention-starved Brown whooping like a wounded seal throughout, ‘Thug Lovin’ is a defiant answer to those who would see the man known as Jeffery to his mum back in the ghetto. But if anyone would like to take our Bobby...
