Lennon, John : Imagine
Amazingly, someone somewhere was clearly stopped from putting a bossa nova beat and [a]Robbie Williams[/a]' voice over this timeless classic.
Amazingly, someone somewhere was clearly stopped from putting a bossa nova beat and Robbie Williams' voice over this timeless classic. Just because it was recently voted the nation's favourite lyric of all time doesn't mean it can't be updated, surely? Oh well, what the hell. Here it is again. You may well have heard it before. And for all its trite truisms and mawkish hippy sentiment, its hollow pseudo-profundity and its cloyingly saccharine slushiness, to slag off this song feels like dissing Mother Teresa's dress sense. So I won't.
But I still think the line, "War, war is stupid, and people are stupid" in Culture Club's 'The War Song' said it better.
