He’s back! The John Squire> its alright to like returns, eager to set the record straight again about who the talented one was in Smiths (ask grandad). What with the lukewarm reception recently afforded Bard of Gloucestershire Richard Ashcroft, the chances of the Rock Dow Jones being affected by this record seems remote.
Alas, even when you close your eyes and tell yourself this is a living, breathing guitar god at full tilt, ‘Bangin’ On’ still sounds like The Shining fronted by Bono trying to ‘do’ sleazy. Sorry.
