Golden Skans (Polydor)
into the icy chart wastelands of January. In three exquisite minutes all that experimental talk of mixing JG Ballard and Giorgio Moroder coalesced into that most divine of things: the perfect pop single, an effortless amalgam of early-’80s pop and rave abandon (what a chorus: “Ooooooo ahhhh/Ooooooo ahhhh!”) all wrapped up in a video which effortlessly morphed The Jacksons’ ‘Can You Feel It?’ with the kooky craziness of Kajagoogoo.
