Lost Prophets NME Awards Show 2007

4:AM Forever

Heavy-handed enough to call their last album ‘Liberation Transmission’ yet canny enough to christen their Pontypridd homecoming gig The Full Ponty, the ’Prophets are clearly battling with their own self-importance. Yet ‘4:am Forever’ (opening line: “Yesterday I lost my closest friend”) works because, like the Manics at their peak, it bolts a thundering rock anthem to a lyric radiating sincerity. By Reading, they’ll be invincible.
