These days, the Manics are like a box of chocolates. Every time they put out a new single, you’re never quite sure which MSP you’re gonna get: the one that thinks releasing trash like ‘Empty Souls’ and ‘You Stole The Sun From My Heart’ is a good idea (aka The Noisette Manics), or the one with infinitely better taste; the preening, politicised, maverick responsible for ‘Faster’ and ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’. We’ll call them The Purple Manics. So which is it? Happily, we’re firmly in purple territory here. Cross ‘Motorcycle...’ with ‘No Surface All Feeling’ and you’re in flavour country. Hazelnut... yum, yum.
