At the risk of gushing beyond the realms of human gush, this is so fucking gorgeous that you won’t know whether to listen to it or try to entice it out for a candlelit dinner for two. Dark and hypnotic, swaddled in breathtakingly beautiful washes of keyboard and yet, for all its swirl and drone, eminently human to boot, it is the exact point at which Spiritualized, My Bloody Valentine and ’80s twinkle-disco connect, and you’ll spend every second of its rapturous span debating whether to dance to it or weep in its wake. The boy’s a bit special, as Sir Alex Ferguson might say.
