Mint Royale : Sexiest Man In Jamaica
...sadly this is probably their best chance yet of making ''Top Of The Pops'...
Two years ago, with Top Twenty hit ‘Don’t Falter’ (featuring Lauren Laverne before she sold her soul to present Channel 5 children’s telly), Manchester duo Mint Royale proved you could propel giddy, glorious dance tunes chartwards without being an egomaniac superstar DJ or churning out an awful one-off ‘Eybeefer anfem’. So this is bit of a disappointment.
Like Fatboy Slim on the happy pills dabbling in ska, it features Jamaican ex-boxer Prince Buster annoyingly declaring himself the ‘sexiest man in Jamaica’. Over and over. It has little of the one-finger-to-the-world greatness that made Mint Royale so ace, yet sadly this is probably their best chance yet of making 'Top Of The Pops'.
