Morning Runner : Gone Up In Flames

A harder, grittier Keane that Coldplay just adore

Morning Runner : Gone Up In Flames

It’s dumb, soaring rock and features a singer whose voice is a union between Starsailor’s James Walsh and James’ Tim Booth – so why are we tapping our feet? Why do we want to tack a Union Jack to our car aerial and go burning down the M40 at high speed? Because Morning Runner’s second single ‘Gone Up In Flames’ elicits the kind of buried emotional response that you’ve spent years listening to hardcore noise-manglers The Locust just to crush, kill and destroy. Still, we can imagine them spilling Tom Chaplin’s shandy and not giving a shit. That makes us smile.
