The lo-fi country band it’s evidently alright for new rock revolutionaries to like, Kentucky’s superbly hairy My Morning Jacket usher in the first British release of their two albums with this handy seven-inch guide to their considerable skills. ‘Just Because I Do’ is raggedy-arsed, sore-headed rock’n’roll that may be related to Drink. But ‘The Bear’ is the real killer, a cavernous and melodramatic ballad that manages to evoke Roy Orbison and Madness and somehow does justice to both of them.
